Champion of Champions returns on Monday – here’s the draw

Monday sees high quality snooker return to the UK with the Champion of Champions event taking centre stage.

The annual competition, held at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, sees the winners of the sport’s major tournaments across the year compete against each other in a bid to win the trophy and £100,000.

This is an invitational event so money won does not contribute towards the world ranking list.

The format sees 16 players split into four groups. The winner of each group will then proceed to the semi-final stages which take place later in the week.

This year’s event sees last year’s winner Shaun Murphy in Group One. The 2005 world champion will face European Masters winner Jimmy Robertson – who is making his debut in the competition. The other match in Group One sees China’s only participant Ding Junhui face Snooker Shoot Out winner Michael Georgiou. The two winners will then face each other in a battle to reach the semi-final stage.

Former winner Ronnie O’Sullivan has been placed in Group Two and will come up against English Open winner Stuart Bingham in his first match. John Higgins takes on Ryan Day in the other opening group match.

Group Three sees world champion Mark Williams take on Kyren Wilson in one of the most intriguing matches of the competition and Judd Trump faces the Belgian bullet, Luca Brecel.

The two semi-finals will be played on Friday and Saturday evening before the final (best of 19 frames) is held on Sunday (November 11).

Live coverage of the tournament will be broadcast on ITV4.
