Snooker presenter Andy Goldstein leaves Eurosport

TV presenter Andy Goldstein has announced he has left Eurosport to concentrate on his new drive-time radio show.

Goldstein MBE has become one of snooker’s regular faces on the screen over the years and news of his departure is likely to sadden many viewers and fans of the game.

The TV and radio host has just become the new main Drive-Time presenter on national radio station talkSPORT and Goldstein said in his announcement this was the main reason behind the decision.

Eurosport is a major snooker broadcaster and provides live coverage of many of the ranking events throughout the season.

It means snooker fans could see a brand new presenter in action when Eurosport provides live coverage of the Northern Ireland Open, starting on Saturday (October 9).

It is not yet clear if Goldstein will return to Eurosport at a later date or if he has left permanently.

A message on Goldstein’s Instagram and Twitter feeds said: “Sorry and sad to have decided to give up working on the Snooker for Europsort, but having just been handed the amazing opportunity of DriveTime on talkSPORT, I have to give that my all right now.

“Eurosport are an amazing group of people to work with and I wish them the very best for the season ahead xx.”

After this year’s World Championship, Goldstein’s colleague and fellow TV host Colin Murray announced his departure from the channel.
