Champion of Champions to start in mouth-watering style

Next week’s Champions of Champions is to start in style with Neil Robertson taking on snooker legend Jimmy White.

White, a six-times a World Championship finalist, will play the recent English Open finalist and world number 3 after qualifying for the event as World Seniors Champion earlier this year.

The Whirlwind came back from 4-0 down in the final to beat Ken Doherty 5-4 and successfully defend his seniors crown.

The first day will also see John Higgins play last season’s UK Championship winner Ding Junhui, taking place on Monday, November 2.

The two winners will then battle it out in the group finale in the evening session to decide who will reach the semi-finals.

World number one Judd Trump has been placed in Group 2 which also includes Shaun Murphy, Stuart Bingham and the winner of this week’s Championship League tournament.

Mark Selby, winner of this season’s European Masters, will play Belgium’s Luca Brecel in the first round.

The Champion of Champions will be screened live on ITV 4 and is an annual invitational tournament with a top prize of £100,000 to play for.
