Mark Selby stands two just wins away from winning the season’s first two ranking events.
The three-times world champion lifted the European Masters trophy in September after beating Martin Gould in the final.
A month later and Selby is through to the English Open semi-finals after beating China’s Zhou Yuelong in the quarter-finals on Friday.
Two more wins this weekend would see Selby become the first player in 30 years to win the first two ranking titles of the season.
The last person to achieve that landmark was snooker legend Stephen Hendry who won the season’s first four ranking events in the 1990/91 campaign.

Hoping to stop Selby will be Australia’s Neil Robertson in what is a repeat of their World Championship quarter-final back in August which the Leicester star dominated.
The other English Open semi-final sees world number one Judd Trump take on four-times world champion John Higgins.
The English Open is the first of this season’s Home Nations events – which also includes the Northern Ireland Open, Scottish Open and the Welsh Open.
