Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump to meet in Northern Ireland Open final

Ronnie O’Sullivan will face Judd Trump in today’s Northern Ireland Open final.

O’Sullivan will be competing in his second major final within a week after winning the Champion of Champions title just seven days ago.

The Rocket had to fight off a determined comeback from world number one Mark Selby to reach today’s final.

Selby came back from 5-3 down to force a decider but it was O’Sullivan who got over the winning line.

Trump, who last won a major ranking event more than a year ago, beat Eden Sharav 6-3 to ensure his place in the final.

O’Sullivan and Trump have played out some cracking matches in previous years. Most recently in March when O’Sullivan dramatically came back from behind to win a final frame thriller in the Players Championship semi-final.

Today’s Belfast final once again could live long in the memory if both players bring their top game to the table.
