Football legend DAVID BECKHAM appears in new snooker video

Former Manchester United, Real Madrid and England ace David Beckham has appeared in a snooker related video clip – giving his appraisal to a cuemaker company.

Beckham is filmed with professional snooker player Alfie Burden who are both shown thanking Mike Sharpe from Cue Creator about the quality of their new cue.

The brief 35 second video starts with Beckham joking about how he hopes the new cue will improve Alfie’s game in the long run.

The former footballer who used to captain England says: “Michael at Cue Creator, I just want to say thank you for the lovely cues, I hope it improves his (Alfie’s) game.”

Alfie then says his thanks to Mike and reveals that Beckham made a 16 break with the new cue while playing against each other earlier in the day.

The Old Green Baize understands the video was filmed sometime in August but it is not fully clear at this stage how it came to be that Beckham appeared in the video.

In July Burden revealed to World Snooker that he and Beckham had become close friends. He said: “I have got to know David as our sons play football together. He is very positive – it’s nice to speak to someone like that.”

According to Cue Creator’s website, customers have total control in the design and specifications of the cue before it is professionally made.

The Old Green Baize has reached out to the Cue Creator to get more information about the video.
