The World Championship draw has been made

This morning saw the draw made for this year’s World Championship.

The draw, which took place at noon and was watched live by thousands of snooker fans from around the world, saw snooker’s elite stars drawn against the 16 winners from the qualifying stages.

Defending champion and world number one Mark Selby will begin his campaign with a match against Joe Perry.

And five-times world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan has been drawn to play Stephen Maguire in arguably one of the most exciting ties of the first round.

All the action gets underway on Saturday morning with, as is tradition, Selby playing the opening game in front of a packed Crucible crowd.
