Stuart Bingham to face Ryan Day in Romanian Masters final

Stuart Bingham or Ryan Day will be the first player ever to be crowned Romanian Masters champion later today.

Both players eased their way through to the grand final after enjoying comfortable semi-final victories on Saturday.

Former world champion Bingham is now just one win away from winning his first big tournament since his comeback to the game at the end of January after being banned for three months for betting on matches.

But Bingham is in for a tough test facing Welshman Day who is in the form of his life and is nearing his third major competition win of the season.

Day, winner of this season’s Riga Masters and Gibraltar Open, thrashed Kyren Wilson 5-0 to book his place in Sunday’s final while Bingham beat Ali Carter 5-2.

The winner of Sunday’s best-of-19 showdown will win the top prize of 50,000 Euros. However the money will not count towards the world rankings as the tournament only has invitational event status.
