As far as bizarre finishes go then this has to be right up there.

A woman intruder somehow entered the playing arena to greet Ronnie O’Sullivan in the very final stages of his English Open third round win on Thursday – and she even got the chance to play his final shot.

The incredible scenes happened just as O’Sullivan was putting the final touches to a stunning 4-1 win over Zhang Yong which saw him make three century breaks .

With just the pink and black to go to wrap up the win, the televised match saw the woman enter the playing arena and walk around the table in a bid to greet O’Sullivan.

As she approaches him to shake his hand, O’Sullivan then lends her his cue so she could attempt the final black in front of stunned fans.

But the woman missed the black and again when she made a second attempt before being escorted away by tournament security.
