Hendry and O’Sullivan are currently competing in Bulgaria where they are reviving their intense rivalry from the 1990s and 2000s in a series of matches taking place all over the southern European country.
O’Sullivan thrashed Hendry in the first of four winner-takes-all matches on Tuesday but Wednesday night’s duel in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia produced a wonderful contest.
Hendry looked to have the game in the bag when he took a 5-2 lead against the Rocket but O’Sullivan came storming back to force a decider.
And O’Sullivan looked like he was going to win it when he opened a 60+ lead in the eleventh frame but a miss while on a 147 attempt allowed Hendry to sensationally clear the table with a stunning break of 75 to take the match 6-5.
The pair will face each other again later tonight in Varna before their series of matches concludes on Friday with a match in Burgas.
The exhibition matches have been organised by Jason Francis who also runs the Snooker Legends tour and the newly reformed World Seniors Championship.
