RONNIE O’Sullivan provided the Coventry crowd with a firework display of his own as he celebrated Guy Fawkes night by cruising to the Champion of Champions semi-finals.

The defending champion reached the last four in quick fashion tonight (Wednesday) by thrashing Marco Fu 6-0 inside two hours of play at the Ricoh Arena.

Earlier in the day, O’Sullivan came back from behind to beat Stuart Bingham hitting back-to-back centuries to seal a 4-2 win and a place in the evening’s final.

Breaks of 75 and 71 put O’Sullivan in early command in the Group Final before he extended his lead to 3-0 following the third frame.

Fu, who had earlier beat Shaun Murphy to reach the quarter-final, had his golden chance in the fourth frame with a 45 break before O’Sullivan hit back with a run of 61 and then winning the frame on the final black.

The world number four then comfortably took the next two frames to clinch a semi-final meeting with Ding Junhui on Saturday.
