DOMINIC Dale held his nerve when it mattered to beat Stuart Bingham and be crowned 2014 Snooker Shoot Out champion.
The 2007 Shanghai Masters winner’s break of 61 helped land the Welshman the top cash prize of £32,000 and the Shoot Out silver trophy.
Dale, nicknamed The Spaceman, reached the final after beating fellow Welshman Ryan Day in the semi-finals. He joins Nigel Bond, Barry Hawkins and Martin Gould to have won the the fast paced competition.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the final, a delighted Dale said: “It’s unbelieable. All throughout the tournament I’ve been playing it frame by frame hoping and praying I just play well enough to get through.
“I’ve been surprised with myself about how consistent I’ve been and pulled out some great pressure balls where if I miss one of them I’m probably out.”
