Carter withdraws from Haikou World Open

Carter German MastersGERMAN Masters Champion Ali Carter has pulled out of the Haikou World Open on medical grounds.

The world number 11 is suffering from the effects of Crohn’s disease and has been advised by his doctor not to travel to China and play in the tournament.

It is a case of history repeating itself for Carter who withdrew from the same tournament last year due to similar circumstances.

Carter’s withdrawal means the winner of the wildcard match between Nigel Bond and Zhu Yinghui will receive a bye into the last 16 stage of the competition.

  1. Here’s hoping Ali feels better soon. He’s one of my favorite players and I always enjoy watching him play. I’m disappointed to not see him play at Haikou. Get well soon ALI!
