O’Sullivan out for rest of season

RONNIE O’SULLIVAN has pulled out of the main tour for the rest of the season due to personal reasons, it has been announced.

The 36-year-old will not play in any tournaments for the rest of the campaign – meaning he will not defend his world championship title, which he won for the fourth time in May.

World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn said in a statement: “He has some personal issues which he needs to resolve and we wish him all the best for the future.

“I have spoken to Ronnie and he has decided to withdraw from any events he has entered and he will not be playing for the rest of this season.”

More soon.
